Jennifer’s journey with Habitat began first through organizations she was affiliated with and later on her own as what she proudly calls a “freelance volunteer”.
Over the years, Jennifer has become a steady presence on our build sites. She finds meaning in every task, whether she’s raising walls or installing stairs. One moment that stands out for her took place during a build on Capitol Avenue, while helping install stairs. She pictured what those stairs would mean for the family who would one day live there. She imagined a child running down the stairs on Christmas morning, grinning with anticipation to see if Santa had come.
“Even when I’m just painting a wall or hammering in a nail, I think about what that moment will become for a family,” she says. “A safe place to fall asleep. A gathering spot for dinner. A door that opens to the rest of their lives.”
Today, Jennifer supports Habitat in multiple ways. She donates with the hope that her gift will help cover the cost of construction materials like lumber, nails, and fixtures. She wants her contribution to help create a space where families build traditions, grow together, and feel pride in what they have made possible.
We are grateful for Jennifer’s years of partnership and the way she gives with both heart and intention. Her generosity helps build more than houses; it helps create the foundation for memories, milestones, and moments of hope. At Habitat, we invite others to get involved in a variety of ways and be part of the life-changing impact of our work.
“I want everyone to be able to have a house to call home. That’s what first drew me to Habitat, and it still drives me to give today.”
