Tiger Team

In 2024, the Tiger Team of 143 members dedicated nearly 18,000 hours to Habitat’s mission.

As a core group of individuals who graciously donate their time to Habitat to support our construction team, our Tiger Team is an integral part of Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity!

A “Tiger” is a volunteer committed and dedicated to helping Greater Indy Habitat achieve its mission by consistently contributing time and skill. No experience is required, and each Tiger is orientated to become an advocate and knowledgeable representative of Greater Indy Habitat. All volunteers are required to follow our volunteer build site guidelines.

“There’s something incredibly satisfying about starting with just a foundation and then, week by week, seeing the walls go up, the roof go on, and the whole structure come together. It’s watching the dream for a family come to life.”

Mo Holliday

I enjoy learning about how the ReStore operates: accepting donations of home goods from businesses and individuals, repurposing materials, and ultimately supporting Habitat’s mission.

Emily Miramontes

It’s more than just swinging a hammer; it’s about being part of a meaningful cause with a clear mission – providing housing and hope for families in our community. Over the years, I've come to realize how rigorous the Habitat Homeownership Program is for the homebuyers rather than my previous misconception that Habitat simply gives homes away.

If you are interested in volunteering in one of our ReStores, or need to complete community service hours, please email our ReStore Staffing & Volunteer Coordinator at slewis@indyhabitat.org.

My work/church/other organization wants to volunteer. How do we get involved?

Please fill out the group form and you can expect to hear from a member of our team after submitting. They can talk through how your organization and Habitat can form a partnership and connect you to the best volunteer opportunity for your group.

Is there an age limit to volunteer?

Yes! All of our volunteers must be at least 16 years old per our insurance requirements. Those under 16 can’t go above 6 feet on a ladder or operate any power tools. Some projects require all volunteers to be 18 or older due to the type of work being done and will be noted in the project description.
