Support Our Work

Builders Circle Donors
The ongoing support of individual donors makes homeownership a reality for families in need of decent, affordable housing in Greater Indy. An affordable home offers a strong foundation to create personal wealth, improve school performance and enhance a family’s social stability.
We invite you to join the Builders Circle today with a gift of $20 or more per month, or $500 or more annually! Please contact Director of Individual Giving, at mparsons@indyhabitat.org or 317.777.6140 to learn more.

Other Ways to Give
Explore the many ways you can support our mission in a way that’s meaningful to you. For any questions about the following options please contact Maureen Parsons at 317.777.6140 or mparsons@indyhabitat.org.
Attainable Homeownership Tax Credit
The Indiana state government recently passed the Attainable Homeownership Tax Credit, a $4 million program designed to incentivize individuals and businesses to contribute to Habitat affiliates. This program is a significant recognition of the growing need for more affordable homeownership options in our community.
When you donate to Habitat, you can receive a tax credit worth 50% of your donation, up to $10,000 in tax credits. This means that a donation of $2,000 could result in a $1,000 tax credit for you or your small business. Claim your credits here.
Planned Giving
As you plan for your future and reflect on the legacy you will leave behind, consider making a planned gift to strengthen local families and communities. There are several ways you can support Habitat through a planned gift. Connect with Habitat to have a conversation our explore our free, online will writing tool through our partner FreeWill. Donate Stock
More individuals are making stock gifts, which provide income tax deductions for the full value of the gift while avoiding the potential tax on capital gains. Habitat receives the full stock value to support our mission. Click here for assistance in transferring your appreciated assets today including instructions you can share directly with your broker.
Cars for Homes
Donating a car, truck, boat, RV or other vehicle is quick and easy, and your car donation may be eligible for tax deduction purposes if you itemize (consult the IRS or your tax advisor for details). Start your donation today.
Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
If you’re 70½ or older and have a traditional IRA, you can make a meaningful difference for Habitat families by donating directly from your IRA. This type of gift—called a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)—can count toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) and may reduce your taxable income. For IRA holders age 72 or older, taking an RMD is required each year. If you don’t take it, you may face additional taxes. If you do, the funds are typically taxed. When you give directly to Habitat, you avoid those taxes and help build safe, affordable homes for families who need it most. Click here to learn more and get started.
Materials and Professional Services
The generous contribution of construction materials and professional services allows us to stretch each dollar further and build more homes. Contact us here to donate new building materials, real estate, or skills.
Donate Household Items
When upgrading your home or office, give the Habitat ReStore your gently used home furnishings, appliances, building materials and more. Your donation also helps the environment by keeping perfectly good merchandise out of the landfill.
If you’re inspired to give a meaningful gift as our homeowners cross the finish line into homeownership, we’d love to hear from you. You can also browse our Amazon registry to purchase individual items that make a big impact. Every gesture matters.
Employer Matching
Thousands of companies, small and large, have matching gift programs which double or even triple individual, tax-deductible contributions made by their employees. Get started here.
