Team Leader Resources

Team Leaders this is your resource hub, your blueprints if you will. The materials and links in this space will help you to lead your team to success and ensure a fun and impactful experience for you and all of your builders and donors. Being an Indy Women Build Team Leader is a big job, and we appreciate you for stepping up to the challenge. We want this to be a rewarding experience for you and have taken the time to create and curate a database of information to help give you context and answer most of the questions you may have or receive along the way. Please take the time to click and read through this space and familiarize yourself with what is available. If you have any questions or suggestions along the way, please reach out to your coach so she can assist you.

Phase 1: Team Leader Recruitment

Team Leader Workbook: The team leader workbook is designed to walk team leaders through the five phases of the Women Build. Each phase contains a section with helpful information as well as a worksheet to help guide you throughout the entire build. We encourage you to review the workbook and worksheets with your coach to ensure all of your questions are answered and steps are complete before getting too far along into the next phase. Leaders who attended the orientation should have a physical copy of the workbook in your folder.

Create your Team Page: Once you have reviewed the team leader workbook and familiarized yourself with the phases it is time to begin phase two: Builder Recruitment. The first step is to create your team fundraising page

Phase 2: Builder Recruitment

Recruit and Register Builders:  Now that you have created your team page you will need to recruit your builders and ensure they each register on YOUR TEAM’S page before the builder deadline. We have created some email templates to help you recruit and register your builders.

Phase 3: Fundraising

Fundraising: Now that you have recruited your team and ALL of your builders have registered successfully on your team page you can now turn your focus to fundraising. Be sure to share the Builder Fundraising Toolkit with your builders and encourage them to use the resources available to them to help with their own fundraising efforts.

Phase 4: Build Day

All volunteers must be 16+. No experience is necessary for your build day. Just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn. Review our build site volunteer page for information regarding what to expect and helpful build site details. Your builders should receive a confirmation email including information about your teams’ build date including date/time, location, etc. As the team leader it is your responsibility to ensure your builders received this information and are prepared for your volunteer day.

Phase 5: Home Dedication

At the end of construction, we invite and encourage all builders, donors, family and friends to join us for a celebration. This is an opportunity to see the homebuyers with their families and tour the completed homes with your teammates.

While additional gifts are not required nor expected, you can give a housewarming present from our homeowner wish list.
