Last week, we hosted our 2nd annual CEO Build, where 20 community leaders came together to work side by side on a Habitat build site. This remarkable group of proven leaders from a variety of sectors stepped out of their daily responsibilities to provide a hand up to our homebuyer, Paul, and his family. Over the course of two days, these dedicated individuals demonstrated their commitment to building a better future for our community.
During the event, our participants tackled numerous tasks, including interior framing, window and door installation, and prepping for exterior siding. It was truly inspiring to see their determination and teamwork, especially given the excessive heat. Their collaboration not only made significant progress on Paul’s home but also exemplified the spirit of community and mutual support that defines our mission.
We are grateful to this year’s co-chairs, Isaac Bamgbose of New City Development Partners and Dennis Murphy of Indiana University Health. Together, they led these phenomenal individuals through the journey, creating an inviting space for camaraderie and collaboration. With their help, we were able to foster a sense of unity and purpose among the participants, ultimately contributing to the event’s success. Thank you, Isaac and Dennis, for your outstanding leadership.
In our second year of the CEO Build, we invited organizations to get involved as sponsors, and we are thankful to Ascension St. Vincent, our Presenting Sponsor, and Browning, our Neighborhood Builder Sponsor, for answering the call and making a significant impact. Their support, along with the efforts of all involved, is an investment in affordable homeownership in Central Indiana. We extend our gratitude to everyone who participated, sponsored, and supported this build. Together, we are building more than just homes; we are building hope.
